I'm a software engineer and computer scientist living in San Francisco Bay Area, California. I'm currently an engineering director at Google, co-leading the Perception group in Google Research. Our team builds systems that can interpret, reason about and transform sensory data -- images, sounds, video, and perceptual data in general. Our technology shows up in many Google products, including YouTube, Photos, Search, Nest, Pixel and Cloud.
Prior to Google, I received a PhD in Computer Science from MIT, and a BS in Computer science from Yale University. I grew up in a lovely small town in Slovakia.
